Kubuntu 11.10 Beta 2 out

The second  beta of Kubuntu 10.11 is out and I have a spare drive!

Installation issues:

  • Install
didn't work if "use updates" and "use third party" were checked. The
system did install, but the installer crashed and didn't clean up
    properly.

Usage:

  • A couple of apps, such as the printer applet, have crashed thus far, but that's to be expected from a beta.
  • Everything seems to be working ok, seems a lot speedier than 11.04.
  • Don't really like the default fonts, but that might just be something to get used to.
  • New package installer - ok - I still use aptitude.
  • Back arrow in start menu is missing - replaced with breadcrumbs at top of menu popup.
  • Auto-recommendations for extra software when first starting various apps.

Overall it's pretty good and I'm looking forward to the full release.
